Pick-Up Order Pricing
If you live in Southwestern Ontario (i.e. within driving range of Waterloo Region) you may want to pick-up worms from our location in Elmira. We operate from home – with no “store-front”, “business hours” or “tours” – however, so all pick-ups are by appointment only. The advantage of picking up your order is that you will pay less, and will also have the opportunity to ask questions and/or look around the yard (most interesting during the summer) if you want.
As is the cased with shipped orders, we do NOT sell worms “by the pound”, but rather in the form of a “Red Worm Mix”. This is basically worm-rich material taken from our beds and then further concentrated (excess habitat material removed) so as to provide customers with a great starter culture for their vermicomposting systems. Aside from containing many adults, it will typically contain loads of juveniles and cocoons as well – so you should expect to see your population grow quite quickly.
Like our “Compost Ecosystem” and “Red Worm Culture” products (of previous years), the Red Worm Mix will also come with valuable habitat material that will help to inoculate your system(s) with beneficial microbes and other helpful composting organisms. Since it’s material the worms are used to (unlike the usual worm shipping substrate, peat moss) – it should also help them to settle in to their new environment more quickly.

QUICK SUMMARY – Again, we do not sell our composting worms “by the pound”, but rather in the form of “Red Worm Mix”. This is worm-rich material taken from our beds then further concentrated. It is an excellent mix for stocking new systems – we recommend 2-3 bags for a typical medium-sized “worm bin”.
**IMPORTANT**:
1) We are now only accepting e-payments for pick-up orders. You are welcome to order using the buttons below, OR to send an Interac e-mail transfer (very easy if you bank online) – but in the latter case you should get in touch with us first.
2) Pick-ups are by appointment only – but since all orders are pre-paid, the pick-up schedule is very flexible. We do our best to fill orders as soon as possible, but please keep in mind that in most cases you should expect AT LEAST 24 hours turn-around time – longer during busy times (and when larger orders are placed). Feel free to email before placing your order if you would like to get an estimate on turn-around time for a planned order.
3) We are located in Elmira, Ontario. Please only place an order below if you know for sure that you will be able to make the trip to get your worms (or have someone else who can pick them up for you).
